Also this year on the 3rd Advent students of different faculties of the HMT Leipzig will give a Christmas concert under the direction of Prof. Dietmar Nawroth. In addition to works by Edvard Grieg, Niels W. Gade and Carl Reinecke, the programme includes compositions by Ludwig van Beethoven, Fryderyk Chopin, Robert Schumann, Fritz Spindler, Theodor Oesten and Richard Eilenberg, whose Petersburg Sleigh Ride op. 52 for piano four hands is still popular today, awakening memories and spreading good humour and cheerfulness. Nordic and German Christmas carols sung together round off this concert.
